We as well as our dogs, loved our stay at Vindoux Luxury Tree Lodge so much we stayed an extra day. We've given it a very high 5-out-of-5 Pet-Safe rating! Here you can bring your dogs knowing that the entire family will have a peaceful stay. Completely enclosed and gap- and jump-safe for medium and large dogs. We did spot one or two gaps in the perimeter fence where small dogs could squeeze through at a push - if they really tried. You will just need to bring all your own doggie accessories.
Grounds: Own, private space and a massive garden. The Tree Lodge is completely private from the rest of Vindoux, and is set quite away from the reception, so when you are here you feel totally private. There is a private pool in the garden of the Tree Lodge - which is also enclosed - keeping it safe for dogs as well as kids.
Enclosed: Completely enclosed with a wooden fence. We felt very safe letting our dogs roam without us in the garden.
Other dogs: There are other dogs on the main property. There are 5 of them, and they are all very friendly. :) They each visited the lodge in turn to come say hi to our dogs - who of course put on a bit of a show. The resident dogs did not reciprocate and actually just wanted to play. They quickly leave when they see they don't get any attention, or aren't let in the property, and all goes back to peace & quiet.
Walking dogs on property: The Tree Lodge is nice and separate from the rest of the property, but there are other tree houses (not pet friendly) on the property too. At present, if you have social dogs you are allowed to walk your dogs on the property, but only on-lead. You can walk through the orchards and to the communal restaurant area. There are some wildlife on the premises in an enclosure, walking off-leash is not allowed.
Would we leave our dogs alone and go to the shop? At a push you could leave them inside, but we would not recommend it.
