The Free State is not really known as a place to go to on holiday. Best known for its capital Bloemfontein, most treat this city (and Province) as a stop over destination en route to Gauteng (Pretoria & Jhb)
One of the provinces best known holiday destinations is Clarens. Known for it's endless night-sky and a jewel of this province.
Free State is growing into a more pet-friendly destination. Most inhabitants are farmers and used to working dogs - so still getting used to the pet-friendly travel market.

Outdoor Activities
The Free State is a landlocked Province, and pet-friendly activities are still a little more limited. Most of the activities are based on the farms that offer pet-friendly stays, but include hikes, fishing, swimming and 4x4 trails.
