Akasia Cottage is one of eight private self-catering cottages that make up Saamrus Guest Farm – one of the best pet-friendly holiday getaways in South Africa.

One of the biggest selling points of Akasia Cottage is its location. Nestled ‘on the hill’, the views from the cottage will be the first thing you notice when you arrive at your little mountain home. The views are unbelievable.

The interior of Akasia Cottage is open plan with the lounge and kitchen combined into one main area. A log fireplace in the lounge promises cosy nights on those winter mountain retreats. There are two divans in the lounge area that can be used as additional beds. The kitchen is fully equipped and has a 4-seater dining table.

The bedroom and bathroom are separate. The bed can be a king-size for couples or two singles for friends. All linen is provided. The bathroom has charming stone surfaces and vintage fittings. It is fitted with an overhead shower. Towels and toilet rolls are provided.

French doors open on to a veranda that offers breathtaking views of the surrounding area. There is also a built-in braai and the garden is fenced so the dogs can run free.
