Pet-Safe Rating
Overall Pet-Safe Rating: ..
We have not yet stayed in Magic Tipi personally and do not yet wish to rate it. But we have taken a look inside & around the perimeter and they are awesome! Fully enclosed with a double perimeter fence around a nice play area, perfectly safe for the pups. You will just need to bring all your own doggie accessories. Once either we, or a min of 3 people have reviewed, we will provide its Pet-Safe rating. Be the first to book and review Magic Tipi!
Grounds: Own, private space. Shares a communal swimming pool area with Assegai House (also pet-safe!).
Enclosed: Yes. Surrounded by a double fence for extra safety.
Other dogs: There are friendly resident dogs, but they stay at the main homestead and do not venture out of their yard. The getaway takes extra precaution not to book too many people with dogs, so you can be pretty assured that you would be one of maximum two accommodations that may have dogs. Ask if you're unsure. All areas outside of enclosed areas are on-lead only.
Walking dogs on property:There are about four different hiking routes on the property ranging in various levels from gentle stroll (~35 min) to longer hikes of up to 3-4 hours. Outside of Assegai's enclosure there is a large communal area that is also really pleasant to walk your pups on if you don't want to take a longer hike. There is a communal pool area here as well, but dogs are not allowed inside the fence. Keep an eye out though, as a wild herd of cows roam this area freely. Dogs must be on leads in this area, and we recommend that you stay away from the cows. They are wild. Dogs will be able to see them through fencing, but there is double fence and if your pooch does not make too much of a fuss, you'll be fine :) Cows tend to stroll through this paddock in the morning and evening and do not stay here long anyway.
Would we leave our dogs alone and go to the shop? No.
Lowest fence height: TBC
Highest fence height: 1.6m all-round.
Fence material: Wood & wire. And there is a double fence towards the front, as well as extra perimeter fence where cars park inside. It's called "bonnex fencing" and is a rectangular-shaped wire fence. The rectangles are about 15x10 cm - so a smaller dog may be able to squeeze through at a push, however medium to large dogs will be perfectly contained.
